Nurse Lead - Tend Linwood
We are looking for a Nurse Lead for Tend Linwood who is looking to lead and drive excellence in primary healthcare to the Linwood community.
About the Role:
The Nurse Lead at Tend Linwood provides on-site leadership to support the day to day operations of a high quality nursing service within their assigned clinic. They ensure effective daily coordination of the nursing team and support for clinical escalations. This role includes rostering, managing unplanned leave, and serving as the first line of escalation for clinical and operational matters. Additionally, the Nurse Lead supports the professional growth of nurses through coaching, mentoring, and training.
Key Accountabilities:
- All duties included in the Registered Nurse job description, plus
- Managing nursing rosters and addressing unplanned leave.
- Acting as the first point of escalation for the nursing team.
- Implementing initiatives directed by the Group Nurse Manager, such as new services or health outcome programs.
- Providing coaching, mentoring, training, and preceptorship to support nursing development.
- Offering feedback to the Group Nurse Manager regarding team performance and growth opportunities.
- Delivering and supervising nursing services, primarily in a float nurse capacity.
- Spending approximately 80% of time on patient care and 20% on coordination duties.
- Conduct daily nursing huddles and also keep regular nurse meetings.
The ideal candidate:
- Must have worked as a Registered Nurse for at least 8+ years, with at least 1-2 years experience in a general practice or primary care environment
- Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating and completing quality improvement projects or similar activities on time and achieving the desired outcomes
- Solutions focused & adaptable
- Works well in a team and easily builds rapport amongst their team members
- Exceptional time management and communication skills
- Experience in preceptoring and/or mentoring nursing & HCA staff
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, technology and organisational skills
- Excellent judgement, diplomacy, discretion and initiative
- Ability to work under pressure, exhibiting strong problem-solving skills.
