Tend is a full-service GP provider. We’re re-imagining the way people access primary healthcare, through world-class design & technology. We’re looking for a designer with strong skills in product and mobile app design to join our team in developing our patient Tend app, and our customer experience and clinical team interfaces. You join a high-performing product team, where user experience and design is at the forefront of our strategy. You’ll work closely with a highly skilled product and engineering team who are passionate about UX, accessibility and making a difference to people’s lives.

As well as making patient’s lives easier, we’re making work easier for our amazing clinicians. You’ll get to collaborate often with our clinical and CX teams to improve their day-to-day challenges and design improvements you see the results of straight away.

We’re a hybrid-remote team that values flexible working as well as regular real-life collaboration. 

We use Slack, GSuite and all the sweet productivity tools you’d expect in a seasoned tech company.

What you’ll do

• Own projects/features within Tend’s patient app, web-based portal & contribute to design decisions on the marketing website (tend.nz)
• Take product specifications and realise them through interaction design that is easy to use and beautiful to look at
  
• Implement brand guidelines, accessibility and usability best practice across multiple applications
  
• Full UX design including; research, workshops, wireframing, prototyping and usability testing to ensure design solutions meet users’ needs
  
• Work with designers, product managers and engineers to help plan and prioritise new features and improvements in all streams of work
  
• Collaborate on strategic solutions to big problems and generally help shape the future of healthcare in NZ.
  

What you’ll bring

• Experience designing mobile and web applications within a product environment
• At least 3 years design experience in product design. Previous graphic or marketing designer experience will also be considered.
• Ideally, you will have around at least 2 years of graphic or marketing design experience (inclusive of any tertiary/university related experience)
• A portfolio that shows solid foundational design skills and talks to how your work has made an impact on user-centred experiences
  
• High level of proficiency in design tools, such as Figma, collaboration tools, such as Miro, and usability testing tools
  
• Skill in executing detailed interaction design and maintaining consistent UI patterns
  
• Experience with maintaining and developing design systems in rapid product development
  
• Ability to create interactive prototypes to both communicate interaction design concepts to the team and for usability testing with patients
  
• Ability to keep sight of priorities, solve hard problems, get things done and achieve results in a constantly changing environment
  
• Knowledge of accessible / inclusive design is highly desirable
